Several groups of US volunteers to serve with Kaya over next 3 months

June 25, 2009 -- Several groups and individuals will be volunteering with Kaya Children in Bolivia during the US summer period.  Over the years, Kaya has often benefited from the work of skilled and committed volunteers.

Here is a general overview of people going to Bolivia this summer.

June 15 -- Stephanie Kuei will be assisting in the Kaya Center all summer and specifically supporting Kristin Huang, Kaya's Exective Director.

June 25 -- A team of medical students -- Karen Boston, Deborah Traub and Leslie Park -- from the University of Rochester will spend the summer collecting data for a study of school experiences of street-involved youth.

June 27 -- Chi and Kristin Huang once again bring their family to Bolivia. They will continue working to improve Kaya's services and networking.

June 29 -- Board member Kent Forkner will make his first visit to Kaya's operations in Bolivia in a week long trip.

July 11 -- 10-12 people from Bethany Lutheran and Sheridan Lutheran churches in Lincoln, NE will spend a week providing support at the Kaya Center.

July 19 -- Highrock Church in Arlington, MA will send 9 people to work in the Kaya Center and help provide medical care in poor communities for one week.

July 20 -- David Ray Wright, a supporter from Texas, will spend a week assisting Kaya staff in making the accounting system more efficient.

July 26 -- Highrock Church will send another team for a week-long service project. Three volunteers will take video and photos for promotional materials and do activities with the kids.
