Awards ceremony for Kaya children
July 23, 2009 -- After a period of intense academic work, the children in Kaya’s residential programs were rewarded with a special awards ceremony recognizing various aspects of their development.

Top prizes were awarded after taking into consideration each boy's progress is different areas: academic, emotional, behavioral, leadership and responsibility, respect (in school, as well as at home, in church and in every other setting). The much-anticipated ceremony took place on June 19th. In addition to showcasing their growth as individuals and their achievements during the first semester in the Kaya Center, the children delighted everyone in attendance with a wonderful performance that involved folk dancing, singing, and mime.
We congratulate our top winner, Eddy Butron Lopez, who was selected as the very first winner of the Kaya Prize. Marcos Cornelio Quispe received second place. Honorable mention went to Julio Cesar Canasa from "The Valient Pumas" group and Beymar Mamani from "Overcoming Challenges."Â
