Volunteer with Kaya Children!
We take our commitments with volunteers very seriously -- in what we expect and in what we give back. Right now we have opportunities available in the US and in Bolivia for individuals and groups. If you are interested in helping out on a more long-term basis, consider starting a Kaya Club, a local chapter of KCI, within your network or community.
In the US
Kaya Children International utilizes volunteers within Boston and other parts of the United States to help with a variety of tasks typically associated with our fundraising and advocacy work. Our need for volunteers fluctuates throughout the year.

In Bolivia
The children we work with are especially vulnerable and need stable relationships and strong support networks. Therefore, we like to plan our volunteer opportunities in advance so that volunteers are able to play a positive role in the lives of our children. We typically take volunteers who can offer a significant time commitment. The degree of contact with the children and the level of responsibility will depend on the length of a volunteer’s commitment.
Volunteers must be 21 years old and should be proficient in Spanish (the language requirement can be waived for some positions). Individual volunteers are generally asked to make a commitment of at least a month, and are not guaranteed housing in La Paz from Kaya. In most cases Kaya is unable to provide professional oversight for internships that are part of a degree program.
Kaya considers a volunteer experience in La Paz as the start of a commitment to serving our children, and therefore requests an ongoing commitment from the volunteer upon returning to the United States in the form of state-side volunteer work, advocating for our children, or maintaining contact with the children in Bolivia.
Once your application is received and reviewed by our staff, you will be contacted regarding our ability to accommodate you. Decisions will be based on the skill set of the applicant and the needs of the organization at the time that the applicant is available to serve.
